About Holly

I am a newly qualified secondary school teacher.
I graduated with a 1st in Physics with Astrophysics in 2016, went on to complete a PGCE where I gained a lot of experience in teaching a variety of ages. I started my first year as a newly qualified teacher in 2017, and have experience with teaching over 300 students throughout my time in schools. I now wish to return to education and use this knowledge, especially at the moment, to ensure I can help anyone that requires additional support.

About the lesson

I am Holly, an experienced secondary school teacher looking to help with building up knowledge in physics, assisting with the impact of the pandemic where I can through online tutoring. I enjoy being as creative in my sessions as possible to ensure both learning and enjoyment for anyone I have the pleasure of teaching.

I adapt my teaching methods and techniques based on the individual. In the first session we will gain an understanding of the courses you are studying, what you would like to gain from the sessions and if you have any ideas of how you currently enjoy learning. We can then work together to find the best layout of our sessions.

I love helping people to strengthen any areas of knowledge that may have been missed for any number of reasons and ensuring they grasp a true understanding of the topic. I am very patient and like to use anything else of interest to help with gaining context and understanding the science.

I completely understand that there is a lot of demand on students from other subjects and commitments and I am happy to adapt to whatever works for you.
Whether there is scope for completing additional past papers outside of sessions or focusing only on the sessions, I am very understanding if sessions require rearranging. My main priority is to focus on gaining a strong foundation of understanding so that you can continue your studies in school with confidence and security.

My main focus is in Physics however I have had experience teaching up to GCSE Biology and Chemistry and would also be able to discuss these topics with you if you feel you would like some extra help in these areas.

If you do decide to choose me as a tutor I look forward to working with you, and the first session is free as we decide how best to progress with absolutely no pressure to continue if you decide it is not for you.
