About Shourodip

My name is Shourodip (you may call me 'Shouro'). I have been tutoring for 2+ years. In this time I have encountered students with varied goals and capabilities. Hence, I have learned to adapt teaching approaches and advocate for a holistic teaching philosophy. For example, one student may be unable to understand complicated chemistry concepts, however flourishes in physics class where concepts are often exemplified with experiments. This indicated that the given student prefers visual learning, therefore I would make a point to use more analogies and drawings to show chemistry.
From a young age I played with the keyboard at home and with my schooling I regularly took private piano lessons completing exams in AMEB and ABRSM syllabuses. I have completed ABRSM grade 7 exam. Hence I have advanced technical capabilities of piano along with fundamental music theory knowledge. I often play the piano for leisure and occasionally arranging covers of my favorite pop songs, movie soundtracks.

About the lesson

Hi! I'm a Bachelor of Biomedicine student at the University of Melbourne with a strong background in science and mathematics. I graduated high school in 2023 with an IB diploma, where my best subjects were Biology and Chemistry. Since starting university, I've been helping high school students build confidence, improve conceptual understanding and develop study skills.

My tutoring style is patient and step-by-step. I break down complex topics into simple chunks and use relatable examples to make them easier to grasp. I guide students with questions, helping them spot and fix mistakes rather than just giving answers. Beyond improving grades, I endeavor to teach students how to learn effectively. I'm friendly yet professional, each lesson I create a cooperative environment where students feel supported, motivated and capable.
I am comfortable teaching students of age 7-18, for 1-2hr sessions. The content, frequency and duration of lessons are personalized for each student ensuring they meet their individual goals
