About Kira
Graduate and Licentiate of the Pedagogical Course of the Royal Academy of Music in London, offering piano and music theory/solfege lessons. DBS checked. Winner of several international competitions, active soloist and chamber music performer. I can help with exams and concerts, as well as simply starting playing piano from scratch and pursuing your passion in a fun way. I have taught both children and adults and my students have passed their ABRSM exams with Distinctions. My goal is to see progress accompanied by self-satisfaction and help the students become confident in reading scores and practising on their own. Summer masterclasses have been an important part of my life, showing me a variety of teaching methods and proving that each player is different and reacts differently. Therefore I will do my best to adjust to the student’s needs and make sure that the joy of playing the piano is always present during the lessons.

I always like to start with a warm-up, so the brain and the fingers get ready for the lesson! After that, depending on the goal and age of the student I will make a plan for the lesson. I like to do a bit of singing with children, as well as some short aural exercises (no more than 5 minutes) to get them started off. With someone preparing for an exam or a concert, I would make a long-term plan, in order to organise the repertoire and make sure everything is in place for the big day. For someone learning piano simply for fun we would get together and choose some personal favourite pieces with various techniques, so that apart from enjoying their favourite music, they develop the skills to work on a wide range of pieces on their own later on. I believe I am a flexible teacher and I’m happy to work on different things with everyone, however, I do stress to parents and beginners the importance of consistent focused practice. 10-15 minutes daily can go a long way, rather than a 1 hour weekly practice session. You can try to fit those minutes of practice in your child’s or your personal schedule the same way you would take some time to brush your teeth before going to bed. I also strongly advise parents to be prepared to support and encourage their children with their progress, for best results. Send me a message if you’d like to get in touch!

Perfect! Kira is an outstanding teacher with a deep wealth of musical knowledge. As an experienced pianist (Grade 8) I can say with confidence that this is the first time I have encountered a teacher who places so much emphasis on the enjoyment of music in addition to world class technical skills. If you wish, either for yourself or for your children, to have a meaningful learning experience with the piano and the world of music then I cannot recommend her enough. A real hidden gem of a teacher.
Perfect! Kira is an amazing teacher! She is a hardworking person! Very patient! Good organized!
Perfect! Kira is very thorough and attentive with her teaching. I have learnt a lot and my fingers have become a lot stronger from all the new exercises she has introduced me to.
