Mark has been tutoring me for the last 3+ years, initially at his house but during Covid on Facetime, which we have continued doing as it really worked for me. I gave up piano in my early teens and 45 years later was looking to rediscover playing the piano but also to develop my understanding of music and how it "works". Mark has been excellent in patiently helping me to restart and is a real encourager. I am currently working on Grade 7 peices (but not for an exam - just marking my progress), but also spend time with Mark looking at how to play some jazz and also improvisation - things I never did as a teen. Now that I have moved from the south coast to the middle of Wales I have chosen to continue lessons with Mark on Facetime - his musical skills (a working composer) and pattern of teaching are all I could wish for in terms of understanding music and developing my own skills for fun. Mark has been teaching me piano for a while now. He's patient, easy going and makes learning fun. He takes the time to understand what you're hoping to improve (in my case, songwriting) and then helps focus on those skills. Overall, highly recommended.
