About Savannah

I am a piano tutor with 13 years of experience and a PhD in Music Performance. My love for piano developed through years of performance, study, and discovering how music creates meaningful emotional connections.

I believe every learner can become a confident musician through supportive teaching and consistent guidance. My lessons balance technical development with creativity so students enjoy learning while steadily improving their musical ability.

Outside teaching, I enjoy composing piano music, attending live performances, and exploring different musical styles from around the world. These experiences enrich my lessons and inspire students to express themselves confidently through the piano.

About the lesson

My piano lessons help students discover music through structured learning, creativity, and enjoyable practice. We begin with note reading, rhythm, finger coordination, posture, and basic melodies before progressing toward more advanced piano techniques. Every lesson includes demonstrations, listening activities, practical exercises, and clear explanations that help students understand each musical concept before moving forward. Students are encouraged to play confidently while developing strong musical habits through consistent practice.

As students advance, we explore scales, arpeggios, sight reading, chord progressions, musical phrasing, pedal technique, improvisation, ear training, and expressive performance. Lessons also include duet playing, rhythm exercises, performance preparation, and interpretation activities that strengthen musicianship while encouraging creativity. Learning plans are carefully adjusted to support each student's musical goals and interests.

My goal is to help students become expressive pianists who enjoy both performing and personal musical growth. Every lesson develops technical skill, artistic confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
