About Lena
I have 8 years of experience teaching piano, holding a B.Mus in Piano Performance and an M.Mus in Music Pedagogy. Throughout my career, I have guided students across all levels, from beginners developing basic skills to advanced performers preparing for recitals, competitions, and ensemble work. My teaching philosophy emphasises technical excellence, expressive growth, and performance readiness to cultivate well-rounded pianists.
I prioritise individualised instruction, patience, and encouragement. Lessons integrate technical exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, and ensemble experience to foster holistic musical development. I create a learning environment that inspires curiosity, creativity, and confidence, allowing each student to explore and express their unique musical voice.

Piano lessons are most effective when students develop technical precision, musical expression, and collaborative skills simultaneously. My lessons focus on finger independence, sight-reading, scales, chords, dynamics, phrasing, improvisation, and ensemble or duet playing. Each session blends structured exercises with creative exploration, encouraging students to cultivate skill, musicality, and personal expression. Lessons include repertoire practice, performance simulations, interactive challenges, and constructive feedback, creating an engaging and supportive environment for learners at all levels.
Lesson plans are customised to each student’s experience and goals. Beginners focus on foundational skills such as finger positioning, note recognition, rhythm, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners refine technical ability, phrasing, dynamics, interpretation, and expressive nuance. Advanced students work on complex repertoire, improvisation, performance preparation, and ensemble coordination. Stepwise guidance, personalised practice strategies, and regular feedback ensure consistent progress and artistic growth.
