About Lauren

I completed a PhD in Music Performance and have been teaching piano for 5 years. Working with learners from different backgrounds has strengthened my ability to create lessons that are supportive, engaging, and effective. Helping students discover the joy of music continues to inspire me.

My teaching approach combines careful technical instruction with opportunities for creative expression. I encourage students to develop confidence while building strong musical understanding through consistent practice. Every lesson is personalised to help learners reach their individual goals.

Outside teaching, I enjoy performing chamber music, arranging piano compositions, and studying different musical traditions. These experiences enrich my lessons and keep them fresh. Seeing students perform confidently after dedicated practice is one of the most rewarding parts of being a piano teacher.

About the lesson

My piano lessons encourage students to explore music with confidence while developing solid technical foundations. We work on finger independence, rhythm accuracy, sight reading, chord progressions, scales, dynamics, pedal technique, duet playing, improvisation, and expressive performance. Every lesson balances structured practice with creative learning experiences.

I use musical games, listening activities, rhythm challenges, creative improvisation, score reading, and performance preparation to keep learning enjoyable. Lessons are adapted to each student's learning style, allowing them to progress steadily through achievable goals. Regular guidance and positive feedback support continuous improvement.

I believe every learner can develop meaningful musical skills with patience and consistent practice. My lessons encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence while making every class enjoyable. Students leave each session feeling inspired to continue their musical growth.
