About Sona

I earned a PhD in Piano Arts and Keyboard Interpretation after years of advanced study in instrumental communication, composition, and performance methods during my academic training. During the past 12 years, I have guided students from different backgrounds and skill levels, helping them improve through personalised instruction and supportive mentorship. Teaching piano allows me to combine creativity, communication, and artistic expression in a deeply meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners become more confident musicians through engaging and practical lessons.

My teaching style focuses on adaptability, patience, and balanced musical growth. Some students improve best through structured technical repetition, while others respond more naturally to improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s confidence level, comfort, and artistic goals. Along with technical development, I help students strengthen listening ability, rhythm awareness, expressive playing, and performance confidence. Building a welcoming and motivating learning atmosphere remains one of my highest priorities as a teacher.

Outside teaching, I continue practising piano, exploring different musical genres, and studying educational approaches that help keep lessons inspiring and engaging. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most fulfilling parts of teaching is seeing students become more expressive and self-assured throughout their musical journey.

About the lesson

My piano lessons are created to help students strengthen technical foundations while developing confidence and expressive playing through practical and engaging learning experiences. I teach note reading, rhythm precision, hand coordination, finger independence, expressive phrasing, and dynamic balance using practical exercises that feel approachable for learners at every level. Lessons also include improvisation activities, ear training, timing exercises, duet practice, and sight-reading sessions that help students improve steadily through regular repetition. I create a calm and supportive learning atmosphere where students feel comfortable exploring music while building healthy technical habits. Every lesson supports both musical growth and artistic individuality together.

Beginners focus on keyboard awareness, scales, posture, and simple melodies through organised routines and patient instruction that build healthy playing habits gradually. Intermediate learners improve coordination between both hands, smoother transitions, expressive timing, and rhythmic consistency through guided studies and focused exercises. Advanced students strengthen emotional interpretation, advanced repertoire, stage confidence, and performance preparation through detailed coaching sessions. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, personality, and musical goals so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning journey.

Learning piano should feel enjoyable, inspiring, and rewarding. I encourage students to appreciate gradual progress while building confidence through supportive feedback and regular practice. Many learners become more expressive and independent as their musical understanding develops naturally over time. My goal is to help students strengthen both technical skill and artistic confidence while creating a lasting connection with music.
