About Serena

My connection to the piano began when I first realized how many emotions could be expressed through its sound. This passion led me to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance, where I studied technique, music theory, and interpretation of classical repertoire. Over the last 11 years, I have worked with students of different ages and abilities, helping them build musical skills while developing confidence.

I believe teaching music requires patience and encouragement. Every student learns at a different pace, so I design lessons that match their individual strengths and interests. Some learners enjoy classical music, while others prefer modern songs or creative improvisation. By adapting lessons to their goals, I help students stay motivated and engaged.

Outside teaching, I continue practicing piano pieces and studying new musical styles. This ongoing learning helps me bring fresh ideas and inspiration into lessons. Teaching piano is meaningful because I see students grow not only as musicians but also as confident individuals who enjoy sharing their music.

About the lesson

Piano lessons should help students enjoy music while developing strong technical skills. My lessons begin by creating a comfortable learning environment where students can explore the keyboard with curiosity and confidence. Early sessions focus on posture, finger movement, rhythm awareness, and basic note reading. Students learn simple melodies and short exercises that help them understand how music is structured. These activities make learning the piano feel exciting from the beginning.

As students progress, lessons gradually include scales, chord progressions, and longer musical pieces. These exercises improve finger independence, timing, and coordination between both hands. I guide students in reading music more fluently and understanding musical elements such as dynamics, tempo, and phrasing. Practice routines are carefully explained so students know how to improve between lessons without feeling overwhelmed.

Music is not only about technique but also about expression and creativity. My lessons encourage students to listen carefully to the sounds they produce and explore musical interpretation. Over time they develop stronger musical awareness and confidence in their playing. Whether preparing for performances or simply playing for enjoyment, students learn how to express emotion and creativity through the piano.
