About Skye

My journey with the piano began when I first started learning music during childhood. I quickly became fascinated by how the instrument allows musicians to perform melody, harmony, and rhythm all at once. This interest inspired me to pursue formal music education, leading me to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Music followed by a Master’s in Piano Performance.

Over the past 9 years, I have taught piano to students with many different musical goals. Some learners wanted to prepare for performances or examinations, while others simply wanted to learn music as a creative hobby. Through teaching, I discovered that patient guidance and clear explanation are essential for helping students develop strong musical skills.

My teaching style focuses on structured learning, musical expression, and consistent practice. I encourage students to listen carefully to the music they play and understand the emotion behind each piece. Helping learners develop confidence at the piano and experience the joy of making music is one of the most rewarding parts of my teaching work.

About the lesson

My piano lessons help students understand both the technical and expressive sides of music. Learning piano is not only about pressing the correct keys but also about understanding rhythm, melody, and musical expression. In my lessons, I guide students step by step so they can develop strong foundational skills and gradually build confidence as musicians.

Lessons often begin with simple exercises that help students learn finger placement, hand coordination, and basic note reading. These early activities help learners become comfortable with the keyboard while improving their rhythm and timing. Students also practice short melodies that help them connect written music with the sounds they produce on the piano.

As students progress, lessons expand into more complex pieces, musical dynamics, and expressive interpretation. Students learn how to control tempo, balance both hands, and perform music with emotion and clarity. My goal is to help learners enjoy the process of playing the piano while developing solid musical skills that support long-term musical growth.
