About Gauthier
Having moved from France in 2018, I have now been living and working in the south west of England for a number of years. I mainly play classical and jazz piano, and have previously - and occasionally still do - write and perform my own music. I'm an enthusiastic professional piano teacher, who has developed a method of teaching over a number of years.

I offer a variety of lesson formats, from 30-minute or 1-hour lessons every fortnight, to several classes every week. Wherever possible, I recommend that beginners commit to more frequent, shorter lessons, as this will help you to progress faster, and to become less reliant on me as a teacher in the future. Although I am flexible in my teaching approach, I advise that those starting out learn to read music, and that they follow my 10-level progress plan. Details of my approach will be discussed in greater depth in the course of an initial, free, trial lesson. In addition to lessons, I organise Zoom recitals, as well as recitals in-person for those students based in Exeter (or who are willing to travel!) This first lesson is free to allow you to get to know your teacher so that they can best meet your needs.

Details
After the first free trial lesson I request that students pay monthly invoices in order to secure their desired lesson slot. Should students wish to have more than one lesson per week, the rate for this is calculated with my hourly rate. For example, students may wish to have:
x 2 30-minute lessons/ week - £25
x 3 20-minute lessons/ week - £25
