About Gia

My musical journey began with formal piano study, leading me to complete a B.Mus in Piano Performance and later an M.Mus in Music Education. Over 11 years of teaching, I have helped students of all ages develop strong foundations and expressive confidence. I believe piano instruction should be supportive and inspiring. I tailor lessons to each learner’s pace and goals, emphasizing thoughtful practice and musical understanding. I encourage students to enjoy the learning process while striving for excellence. Outside teaching, I remain active in performance, repertoire exploration, and music pedagogy research. Teaching piano is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow in confidence, creativity, and artistic expression that stays with them for life.

About the lesson

Piano lessons are most meaningful when students connect technique with musical expression. My lessons focus on posture, hand coordination, rhythm accuracy, sight-reading, harmonic understanding, and expressive phrasing. I help learners understand how theory informs performance, enabling them to play with clarity and confidence. Lessons are structured yet encouraging, promoting consistent progress.

Beginner students focus on note reading, coordination, rhythm, and simple repertoire. Intermediate learners develop scale fluency, chord patterns, pedaling technique, and expressive control. Advanced students refine technical precision, stylistic interpretation, advanced repertoire, and performance preparation. Each lesson includes guided practice, achievable goals, and detailed feedback.

Piano education also builds concentration, discipline, and emotional expression. Students gain confidence as they overcome technical challenges and interpret music independently. My goal is to help learners enjoy the piano while developing skills that support lifelong musical growth.
