About Callie

My love for piano began with a fascination for melody, harmony, and musical storytelling. I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music before earning a PhD in Piano Performance Studies. Over the past 9 years, I have guided students through different stages of their musical development.

I enjoy creating lessons that balance discipline, creativity, and enjoyment. My teaching approach focuses on clear instruction, encouragement, and adapting lessons to individual strengths and challenges. Every student receives support designed to help them reach their full potential.

Outside teaching, I enjoy performing, composing, and exploring a wide range of piano repertoire. These experiences help me bring fresh musical ideas into lessons. Helping students develop confidence and joy through piano playing remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.

About the lesson

My piano lessons are designed to help students build strong musical foundations while encouraging creativity and self-expression. Topics such as finger independence, rhythm development, sight-reading, chord understanding, scales, dynamics, and musical interpretation are taught through structured exercises and engaging repertoire. I focus on helping learners understand music while developing practical playing skills.

Every lesson is customised to suit the learner’s level, interests, and musical goals. Beginners build confidence through foundational techniques, while advanced students refine interpretation, technical control, and performance preparation. Regular practice activities help students make steady and meaningful progress.

I encourage learners to enjoy the process of musical growth and exploration. Piano becomes more rewarding when students understand both the technical and expressive sides of music. My goal is to help students become confident musicians who enjoy learning and performing.
