About Wilma

Students ranging from age 6 to adult fill my Washington DC studio. I confess that my own ears are my most demanding critics. Music has been my life since I was 7, leading to a Bachelor of Music from Berklee.

My 13 years of teaching involve refining posture and hand position while sharpening rhythm and timing. These sessions require rigorous music theory and disciplined memorization techniques.

Do you want to develop the inner hearing that makes truly fluent playing possible? Through sight reading and sight playing, we build foundational skills for pop or classical styles. ABRSM and Trinity grade exam prep remains a core focus of my instruction. Have you considered how deep your current connection to the sound truly is?

About the lesson

Inner hearing is the mandatory foundation of every note played. Silence precedes the strike of the key.

I combine conservatory rigor with practical feedback during our 10.0 level sessions. You receive weekly practice modules assigned with every class to ensure progress.

Sight playing skills develop through this structured, disciplined pacing. Expect direct corrections on your hand position.

My background at Berklee ensures that pop or contemporary pieces receive the same technical scrutiny as classical literature. Building these habits across 13 years of teaching has proven that audiation is the secret to success. Please reach out if you are ready to listen before you play.
