About Madge

Aspiring artists often struggle with finding their unique voice on the keys. Starting as a complete beginner is a strength.

I earned my BS Music Industry from USC Thornton School of Music to better understand how modern sounds translate to the piano. My teaching style is patient and very creative.

I work with students who want to master chord voicing and ear training while keeping the process fun. Learning pop and contemporary styles feels natural when you understand the mechanics behind the melody.

I also incorporate classical repertoire to sharpen your pedaling technique and expression. It is a pleasure to see how quickly students pick up complex memorization techniques once they find their groove. I live for the moment when a student realizes they can play exactly what they hear in their head.

About the lesson

You will reach a level of fluency where the piano acts as an extension of your creative mind. Music theory is rarely as dry as people claim when it connects directly to your favorite songs. I bring 10 years of experience to these sessions, focusing on sight playing and scales to keep your fingers agile. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class ensure you have a clear path forward between our meetings.

I emphasize dynamics because playing with heart matters more than playing perfectly every time. My USC Thornton training helps me simplify complex accompaniment skills for those who want to support their own singing. Expect to see steady progress in your ability to play by ear and improvise during our meetings. Making music should feel like play, so we keep the atmosphere relaxed while doing the work.
