About Ivy

I earned a Master’s Degree in Piano Interpretation and Music Education after years of studying keyboard performance, musical collaboration, and teaching methods during my academic training. Over the last 7 years, I have worked with students from different age groups and musical backgrounds, helping them improve through personalized instruction and supportive guidance. Teaching piano allows me to combine creativity, communication, and musical mentorship in a rewarding and meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners discover confidence through music and artistic expression.

My teaching approach focuses on adaptability, patience, and balanced musical development. Some students improve best through organized technical exercises and repetition, while others respond more naturally to improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s learning style, confidence level, and musical goals. Along with technical improvement, I help students strengthen listening ability, rhythm awareness, expressive interpretation, and performance confidence. Creating a welcoming and motivating learning atmosphere remains one of my highest priorities.

Outside teaching, I continue practicing piano, exploring different musical styles, and studying educational approaches that help keep my lessons engaging and creative. Music remains an important source of emotional expression and artistic growth in my life. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing students become more comfortable and self-assured with their musical abilities over time. Helping learners enjoy music while developing lasting piano skills continues to inspire me every day.

About the lesson

My piano lessons focus on helping students develop musical fluency and technical confidence through supportive and organized instruction. I teach note reading, rhythm training, finger independence, hand coordination, chord understanding, and expressive playing using practical exercises that feel approachable and encouraging for learners at every level. Lessons also include improvisation activities, sight-reading practice, listening exercises, duet sessions, and timing development that help students improve naturally over time. I create a calm and motivating learning atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing steadily without unnecessary pressure. Every lesson balances technical development with creativity and musical enjoyment.

Beginners receive patient guidance with keyboard familiarity, posture, scales, and simple melodies that create strong foundational habits. Intermediate learners improve reading fluency, pedal coordination, dynamic shaping, and smoother movement between both hands through structured studies and guided practice activities. Advanced students focus on expressive interpretation, emotional phrasing, performance preparation, and advanced repertoire refinement through detailed coaching sessions. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, confidence level, and musical interests so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning process.

Learning piano should feel expressive, rewarding, and personally meaningful. I encourage students to enjoy gradual improvement while building confidence through regular practice and supportive feedback. Many learners become more creative and independent as their musical abilities continue growing over time. My goal is to help students strengthen both technical skill and artistic confidence while developing a lasting connection with music.
