About Ivy

I completed a Master’s Degree in Piano Pedagogy after years of studying keyboard performance, music education, and collaborative musicianship during my academic training. Over the last 8 years, I have taught students from different age groups and musical backgrounds, helping them improve through supportive instruction and carefully structured lessons. Teaching piano allows me to combine creativity, communication, and musical guidance in a deeply rewarding way. I enjoy helping learners realize that music can become both enjoyable and empowering with the right support.

My teaching approach focuses on patience, adaptability, and balanced development. Some students learn best through repetition and technical structure, while others improve more naturally through improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s confidence level, goals, and learning style. Along with technical improvement, I help students strengthen rhythm awareness, listening ability, expressive playing, and performance confidence. Creating a welcoming and encouraging learning atmosphere is always one of my priorities.

Outside teaching, I continue practicing piano, studying different musical styles, and exploring creative teaching methods that keep my lessons engaging and fresh. Music remains an important part of my life because it encourages emotional expression, discipline, and artistic growth. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students become more confident and independent musicians over time. Helping learners enjoy music while building lasting piano skills continues to inspire me greatly.

About the lesson

My piano lessons focus on helping students feel comfortable with music while building strong technical and creative skills step by step. I teach finger coordination, rhythm training, note reading, chord recognition, and hand independence through practical exercises that feel organized and easy to understand. Lessons also include duet playing, listening activities, sight-reading practice, and creative improvisation that help students develop musical fluency naturally over time. I create a supportive learning environment where students can ask questions freely and improve steadily without feeling overwhelmed. Every session balances technical learning with musical enjoyment and expression.

Beginners receive patient guidance with posture, scales, simple melodies, and timing exercises that create strong foundational habits. Intermediate learners improve reading fluency, pedal control, coordination accuracy, and expressive phrasing through structured practice and musical studies. Advanced students focus on performance preparation, dynamic balance, emotional interpretation, and stronger musical storytelling through advanced repertoire. I carefully adjust lessons according to each student’s learning pace, confidence level, and musical interests so progress remains motivating and balanced throughout the learning process.

Learning piano should feel inspiring and personally meaningful. I encourage students to enjoy the process of musical growth while building confidence through consistent practice and encouragement. Many learners become more expressive, focused, and independent as their musical skills continue developing over time. My goal is to help students create a lasting connection with music while strengthening both technical ability and creativity. Every lesson supports confidence, discipline, and long-term musical growth.
