About Daniel

Daniel Forino is a piano teacher based in Leeds who is extremely passionate about music and the positive impact that a good musical education and learning to play the piano has. Daniel helps his students to continually improve and achieve their goals on the instrument.

Daniel Studied Jazz performance at Leeds College of Music and graduated in 2016. I co-manage and form part of a succesful five-piece wedding band called Dae La Roux, who are signed to the Jonny Ross agency in Leeds. We have performed at hundreds of weddings and other events around Yorkshire in the last few years. Daniel also has experience in schools as a teacher, teaching assistant with special needs students, and is training to teach music in the future (Music PGCE with QTS)

Daniel can teach graded exams for classical and jazz as well as general technical ability, or any pieces of music that his students are passionate about learning. He teaches all ages, beginners to advanced, and all genres.

Daniel now teaches from home over zoom but will also teach from home in person from July onwards. He will begin to travel to his students again to teach when the Covid restrictions are eased and when it is safe to do so.

About the lesson

Students can choose to have lessons with me on grades, improvisation, classical pieces, sight reading ability, theory, grades, compostion techniques, or any pieces students want to learn for their own enjoyment. For intermediate and advanced players, I can help to improve their abilities by focusing on intonation, accuracy and expression to help them to become a well-rounded pianist and continually improve.

Beginners need only bring themselves, a positive mindset, and a willingness to learn. For those studying grades I find it important to start with a warm up for the student focusing on technique and scales and follow this with a focus on the pieces the student has chosen. At the end of a lesson I explain what needs to be practised before the next lesson and write this down for the student.

I am fully equiped to teach online from hone witha high quality Rode mic and HD webcam.
Travel fees and distance will of course be a consideration, as will Covid restrictions easing in the near future for in person lessons.
