About Isabelle

Hi! My name is Isabelle, and I’m a 16-year-old piano tutor with over 10 years of playing experience. I’ve studied classical piano since I was very young, and teaching has become one of my biggest passions. Even though I’m a younger tutor, I take my role very seriously and always strive to be professional, prepared, and encouraging. I specialize in teaching kids aged 5 to 12, especially beginners who are just starting their musical journey. I remember what it felt like to be in their shoes—excited but sometimes overwhelmed—and I make it my goal to create a fun, friendly, and stress-free learning environment where students can build both skills and confidence.

About the lesson

As a 16-year-old tutor with over 10 years of personal piano experience, I bring an enthusiastic approach to teaching music—especially for younger beginners. I understand what it’s like to start learning piano as a kid, and I use that experience to create lessons that are fun, encouraging, and easy to follow.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
I focus on building a strong musical foundation through a mix of ear training, basic music theory, note reading, rhythm games, and finger exercises. I use a hands-on, interactive approach, incorporating songs kids love to help them stay motivated. I also emphasize creativity—like simple improvisation and learning to play by ear—so students stay excited and engaged.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-Up (5 minutes): Finger exercises and review

Music Theory (5-10 minutes): Fun and simple activities to build understanding

Main Piece (15-20 minutes): Learning or practicing a song tailored to the student’s level and interests

Wrap-Up (5 minutes): Recap, practice tips, and a small fun challenge or music game

Lessons are usually 30 minutes for beginners, but can be extended based on age and focus level.
