About Max
I'm a music degree graduate from UPM with Dip ATCL in Piano and Violin.
I have over 15 years experience in teaching students of all ages and walks of life.
I own and manage a music shop and music school in Perlis
I do speak English, Mandarin and Malay fluently during my class.
I believe in lifelong learning and constant improvement. Currently I'm learning music production on the side
I also teach English speaking part time.
Guitar lessons is taught by my father, Chan Kok Peng who is an experienced and well recognised guitar teacher of over 30 years, which made him the first and one of the few guitar teachers in Alor Setar who can teach till high grades

I teach students towards achieving sight reading freedom, enabling them to play ANY song they want one day.
Understand theory, scales, chording and songs without memorizing. Strengthen your skills and knowledge through activities and games, not just exam pieces and theory book!
Enrolling for exams is optional, but overall emphasis in learning journey will still to be a well rounded player, not an exam robot or certificate collector.
I teach piano and violin, while guitar (classical or acoustic) is taught by my father.
