PRESENTATION

My experience with music starts in the regular school curriculum classes, extends to three intense years in the technical course in transversal flute of Colégio Pedro II and another three years of bachelor's degree at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Unirio), still in progress ; it also includes taking part in several music festivals and flute and musical education short courses, in addition to a permanent column in the new magazine Pattápio, of the Brazilian Association of Flute Players. In teaching, I accumulate experiences as an independent teacher of music and English.

About the lesson

Objective
The course aims to meet the student's demands. Thus, the direction of the classes will be established according to the previous relationship the student has with the flute (availability for study; use as a musical instrument, mainly for children; preparatory for THE; etc); but also according to the relationship developed during the classes taught. After all, we hope that the student's experience with the instrument and the passion for it will intensify throughout the meetings. The general objective, of course, will always be the development of the technique and musicality in transverse flute, but the taste of each flutist leads their learning.

Methodology

The course uses diversified music and effective and contextualized exercises to teach the transverse flute. From the analysis of a vast bibliography, the method divides the act of playing and focuses on each of the particularities traditionally used for an effective learning of the instrument. The approach is subdivided into two major but interdependent sections (technique and interpretation), and inserted in them, there are many other important topics for playing the transverse flute.

Classes

Classes will be guided by a monthly plan, which subdivision and objectives will be outlined according to the number of classes that month. Thus, a clear objective will direct student and teacher.

Each meeting will obey a lesson plan and, of course, the student's needs and proposals.

We will avoid monotonous classes without applying the exercises. The idea is to insert the technical exercises into the needs of the repertoire.

The songs will be divided between those proposed by the student and those proposed by the teacher.
