About Dilan
Hi!
I'm Dilan, I am currently studying Politics & Quantitative methods at the University of Manchester. I studied both Geography and Politics at advanced level from a young age as both disciplines have greatly interested me. I absolutely love how both of these subjects work hand in hand from a geopolitical perspective and allow for a more broader outlook on the world.
From the age of 14, I pioneered my own charity with friends called SportingTheYouth teaching English & maths in India to deprived children. Alongside this, I have experience tutoring at Explore Learning for over a year. Whilst at sixth form I was also a workshop prefect mentoring year nine students
Im a motivated and diligent individual, who’ll put maximum effort into tutorials, to ensure that you have the knowledge and skills to be the best you can!

Each session will be tailored around the tutee by communicating with the student to best understand their learning habits and techniques as no individual learns information the same way. I will work hard to make tasks that appear complex as simple as possible. Early on, I will work to understand the students’ strengths and weaknesses, in order to focus on areas which, require more attention. I also feel that it is imperative to develop rapport with the student therefore to ease in the start of the session we walk talk briefly about common interests. Students can also stop me at any time to answer any questions or flag up any issues. Due to me being a student as well I specifically sympathise with not understanding things or finding specific topics tricky and will always be happy to help!
All my sessions are planned and I will create material alongside exam specific questions from the exam board to work with. Furthermore, if you have a topic that you found tricky at school bring them to me and we can work through them together. I am a very flexible tutor who understands that every student is different and I will seek to ensure students can maximise their sessions
