About Elsa

I am a passionate violin tutor with 8 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students develop both technical skill and a love for music. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring their first notes to advanced learners preparing for performances and exams.

One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with basic techniques to performing confidently and expressively on stage.

My teaching approach emphasises solid fundamentals such as posture, finger placement, bow technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering musical expression, creativity, and emotional connection to the music.

I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, and listening skills to help students gain a well-rounded understanding of music. Each student has a unique learning style, and I adapt lessons to suit their pace, goals, and abilities.

I create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to explore, make mistakes, and grow. Teaching violin allows me to inspire students, build confidence, and instil a lifelong passion for music and learning.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a philosophy based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, emphasising both technical skill and artistic growth. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual goals, abilities, and interests, combining structured exercises with creative projects to encourage expression and exploration.

Motivation drives my lessons. I help students set meaningful goals, monitor their progress, and celebrate achievements, instilling pride, self-confidence, and perseverance. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and supportive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, discuss difficulties, and collaborate creatively, fostering engagement and understanding.

Creativity is central to my methodology. I integrate improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, allowing students to explore their musical ideas and develop a unique artistic voice. Integrity guides students to practise consistently, stay disciplined, and approach their learning responsibly, forming habits that support long-term musical growth.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, giving students a solid foundation in all areas of musicianship. This comprehensive approach ensures that students develop technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
