About Elsie
I am a calm natured, patient and approachable graduate (BA, MEd). I am due to begin the acclaimed Teach First graduate scheme next year. Whilst studying part time I worked full time in schools, mostly primary schools, but I also have a lot of experience working with children with special educational needs, including autism from high functioning to non-verbal. I have also worked in a secondary school and I have volunteered teaching adults. Moreover, my subject knowledge means I am able to tutor older children and young people various subjects. I have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Religions as well as A Levels in Psychology, History and English Literature. I have also completed my masters degree in Educational Psychology. My approach is very child/ person centred. I would seek to know what a person would be interested in achieving and gaining from the situation and tailoring my approach accordingly based on their individual strengths and traits. I am very keen on building that relationship in order to get the best out of the situation and especially building mutual trust and respect.
