About Kevin
I'm an experienced teacher who has been helping children from a range of backgrounds and with a range of abilities to succeed in primary school for many years. I understand that many students aren't super confident in every lesson at school and might need a little more practice and help in certain areas. I also know that other students might wish they could study certain topics in more detail than they are able to in the classroom and would like to be pushed even harder. Either way, I can help you improve and reach your potential.

With 8 years of experience teaching children in upper Key Stage 2 (three of those years in Year 6), I have gained a very keen understanding of the learning they need to have done in the core subjects in order to succeed in their end of year examinations. I also understand that many children require a little extra help and practice to reach the expected level, particularly given the extent of the disruptions to their schooling in recent months.
My 1 hour sessions predominantly use exam-style questions of increasing complexity to consolidate and deepen understanding across specific curriculum areas. Where student weaknesses or misconceptions are revealed, we apply the brakes and use other resources to 'plug the gaps'. Where students already show good understanding of a topic or skill, we push for greater depth level and mastery. The aim is always progression and improvement, regardless of the starting point.
If your child is in Years 4 to 6 and you feel they could benefit from my help, then I'm ready to work with them.
