About Jonece
In June 2018 I will complete my first year as a 7th grade Chemistry and Pre-Algebra teacher. Before this position I was a math and SAT prep tutor (with occasional English and Spanish assistance) for a high school student from Fall 2013 until her graduation in June 2017.

In addition to having a strong grasp of the subject material, I understand that to teach children and teenagers you must ensure they feel valued and heard. Because I keep this in mind and consider their individuality, I am able to build a relationships with those I tutor as both people and students. Additionally, I am detail-oriented, passionate about civic service, and enthusiastic about learning. I approach teaching math by first explaining the underlying concepts, then making those concepts more tangible with example problems.
