About Vanessa
You can feel confident in my ability to serve you as a math tutor. Before opening my private math tutoring company I worked for many years as a classroom teacher. I graduated from a prestigious university in Canada with my Bachelor of Education and I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I only take on students who are highly-motivated an have the time to invest in their studies.

As a math tutor, I believe in a personalized approach that caters to each student's unique learning style. I take the time to understand my students' strengths and weaknesses, and adapt my teaching method to best suit their needs. I only work with students who are motivated and driven - they want to be at the top of their class and are willing to put in the time and work that this takes.
My teaching techniques include breaking down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable parts, providing real-world examples, and using visual aids to enhance understanding.
All of my lessons take place online. I use an engaging platform that my students love. When planning lessons I like to start by reviewing previously learned concepts or assessing student understanding, introducing new material, working through practice problems together, and assigning practice to reinforce learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my passion for math and my ability to make it fun and engaging for my students. I prioritize building a positive relationship with each student, creating a safe space where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Communication is important to me, I ensure that I stay in contact with families regarding progress and suggesting the best ways that we can work together to proactively help their student succeed.
Overall, my approach as a math tutor is focused on building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and helping my students achieve their academic goals.
