I'm used to say that Jean "changed my game"! When I first took a lesson with Jean four years ago I explained o him some problems I had with my two hands backhand due to some pain in my left wrist (I'm right handed). He suggested me to switch to a one hand back-hand. I was not very optimistic about that option and in the end Jean convinced me. From my grip to my swing style, that was a full tranformation of that shot. Four years later I can say that I never had such a good backhand (even when I was 20 years younger and had no issue with my wrist). I can now hit it flat, with slice or with topspin. From a weak shot, it became my top weapon.
Not only Jean is a good teacher (very knowledgeable, pedagogue, identifying points of improvements, setting up the right exercises, to mention a few), he is also a competitor with lot of experience in playing tournaments (which makes him a good coach for tournaments players - like me). He is also very much adaptable to your needs and to the type of player he is teaching. After having been myself one of his client, I fully trusted jean when I looked for a teacher for my daughter. She has loved taking lessons with him and she is now having lot of fun when we play togather thanks the solid foundation that Jean put in place in her game. I'm so thankful to Jean!
Jean also has a broad culture in tennis, he has always some anecdotes about famous players from the past and present. He is realy passionate about his sport. After some time, I used to know Jean better and discovered he is an accomplished athlete: he is a very good trail and semi-marathon runner as well as a good golf player. Jean also shares a lot of good advice on things to do and see in the region. I sometimes call him "best tourism advisor" for the French Riviera and its hinterland.
Jean recently moved to one of the best clubs in the region: Tennis de l'Ara. This club with its long history, tradition and its top quality clay courts is the perfect place to take lessons with a perfect teacher like Jean. I can't wait to take my next lesson with Jean.
