About Gustavo
I am a high school language teacher who lives in Montevideo, though I lived in Canada for 23 years. I have a bachelor's degree in Philosophy as well as a Bachelor of Education. I have traveled extensively all over the Americas, Europe, as well as Turkey and Iran. I am a friendly, approachable and easygoing teacher with over 20 years of experience with a wide variety of learners, in-person and over video. I look forward to getting to know you!

As an online Spanish tutor, my approach focuses on building conversational confidence, cultural immersion, and practical communication. I strip away the dry, intimidating grammar grids and replace them with interactive, real-world practice that gets you speaking from day one, using materials related to current world events and the interests of the learner.
I design online sessions for motivated learners who want to move past simple translation apps and really connect with other human beings.
My teaching methods make language acquisition natural and engaging, prioritizing meaningful communication over perfect grammar.
