Absolutely awesome tutor. What I love, especially about Matthew is his very encouraging and positive approach. He really makes you feel relaxed and he has such a non-judgemental attitude. His friendliness makes the whole experience so comfortable and obviously his talent underpins the whole experience to make every minute worth it. I was nervous going into my first lesson but Matt quickly put me at ease and was very encouraging. The techniques he taught me definitely gave me far more confidence when performing and it’s obvious he understands what’s involved because he’s been there and done it himself. One of the best aspects of the lessons were the different ways Matt describes a particular technique - waiting to see which one resonates most so that you can understand/incorporate it. Matthew has taught for me at my Stagecoach school in Kingston. He was personable and knowledgeable in his field. He built an excellent rapport from the outset with our young students (aged from 6-16) and his classes were interesting and challenging. Matthew worked with excellent quality backing tracks from his macbook and it was impressive to see how well he used his technology.
