About Anastasia

I’m a professional actor, and experienced drama teacher with over four years of teaching experience working with children and young people aged 4–18. I teach acting, LAMDA, public speaking, audition technique, and creative confidence in both 1-1 and group settings. Alongside teaching, I work professionally in acting and writing, and I’ve written and directed short films currently on the festival circuit. My lessons are supportive, creative, and tailored to each student — whether they want to build confidence, prepare for LAMDA exams, develop acting technique, or simply enjoy being creative in a safe and encouraging environment. I’m particularly passionate about helping students grow in confidence, connect emotionally to their work, and discover their own unique voice as performers and creators.

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to the student in front of me, so no two sessions ever look exactly the same. My approach is practical, creative, and flexible, and I draw on my experience as a working actor and drama teacher to make sessions engaging, supportive, and focused on real progress.

We usually start with a short check-in and a simple physical and vocal warm-up to help the student relax and shift into the work. From there, we move into the main focus of the lesson, which might be LAMDA exam prep, monologue or scene work, audition technique, or more playful drama exercises depending on what the student needs.

For exam students, we go into detail on character, text, vocal work, and performance technique, while also making sure they feel confident and properly prepared. For younger students or those who are newer to drama, I tend to use improvisation, games, and storytelling to build confidence, communication skills, and imagination in a more natural way.

A big part of my teaching is creating a relaxed, safe space where students feel able to try things out without worrying about getting it “right”. I adjust as we go depending on how a student is responding — sometimes that means slowing things down and focusing on confidence, other times it means pushing them a bit further creatively.

Overall, the aim is to help students develop solid performance skills, but also to enjoy the process and feel more confident in themselves, both in and out of the room.
