About Thomas
I am a professional Classical and Jazz guitarist. Sought after to play music professionally at private events and functions with the best musicians in London. I also study intermittently with the head of Classical Guitar at Trinity Conservatoire to widen my advanced repertoire.
I currently split my time between professional performance, teaching in schools and private tuition.
I prefer to teach classical guitar as it gives a rigorous technical and musical foundation for a guitarist to go on to master all other styles of music.

I believe learning classical guitar is the best way to start for a guitarist, there is no way to progress in classical guitar without picking up all the necessary skills to become a very good musician. And classical guitar is beautiful. I teach the grades up to Grade 8 and have gotten students distinctions on ABRSM guitar exams but I respect that not all students wish to enter exams.
There are tried and tested pedagogy methods in classical guitar, all students will begin with the basics of notation and technique and eventually go through the methods of Fernando Sor, Matteo Carcassi, Tarrega and Villa-Lobos with me to build up repertoire and solid technique. Often these composers overlap with pieces required for the graded syllabus.
