About Daniel

I began violin studies 1990, at the age of three with William Führberg. In 1997 I continued violin studies with Drostan Hall and in 1998, added piano, organ and music theory studies with Dr. M. Dean Kincaid. From 2001 - 2021 I continued studying the violin privately with Dr. Roland and Almita Vamos (Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and the Music Institute of Chicago). In 2003, a Christian ministry invited me to play for ten benefit banquets honoring retired teachers of Moscow, Russia. I attended the Music Institute of Chicago’s Academy Program in its inaugural year 2006-2007. I have been privileged to participate in masterclasses and receive coaching from such artists as David Taylor, Mark Zinger, Mauricio Fuchs, Rachel Barton Pine, Alan Heatherington, Augustin Hadelich, and Sibbi Bernhardson. In 2015, I was one of eight violin semifinalists in the Washington International String Competition in Washington D.C. In 2020, I was one of five finalists in the William C. Byrd International Young Artist Competition in Flint, Michigan. I also enjoy arranging and orchestrating music. I am grateful for the musical abilities that God has given me and to my parents for their dedication and loving guidance in developing these gifts.

About the lesson

I teach classical violin and specialize in technique development. Weekly lessons are usually one hour in length with the option to add an additional hour every other week specifically devoted to technical studies. During my 20 years of study with world-renowned violin pedagogues, I received a thorough foundation in technique and learned much of the standard violin repertoire. I also have a vast knowledge of hymns and sacred music and would be happy to assist violinists who desire to use their skills in the Church. While I prefer working with intermediate to advanced students I am willing to help beginners also.
