About Florivaldo
Hi, I'm Flo — a professional performer, choreographer and dance educator with over 13 years of experience working within the performing arts industry.
My career has allowed me to experience the industry from both sides of the studio: as a professional performer on major stages and as an educator helping to develop the next generation of dancers and performers.
One of the highlights of my performing career was spending four years portraying Michael Jackson in the West End production of Thriller Live, where I became London's final Michael Jackson performer in the production before the West End closed during the pandemic.
That experience had a huge influence on the way I teach today. Performing professionally isn't simply about executing choreography — it's about musicality, stage presence, individuality, storytelling, confidence and understanding how to truly connect with an audience.
Alongside my performing career, I have developed extensive experience as a choreographer and dance educator, teaching within professional performing arts and vocational training environments. My teaching experience includes working with students at institutions such as Performers College Birmingham, Wilkes Academy and DuPont Dance Stage School, alongside workshops, choreography and training with dancers of different ages and abilities.
I specialise in Commercial Jazz, Musical Theatre Dance, Commercial Dance, performance coaching and Afro-Flo — my own movement style combining African influences, traditional Kuduro and commercial dance.
As a teacher, I'm passionate about developing more than just technically capable dancers. I want my students to become confident, versatile and intelligent performers who understand their bodies, their musicality and their individual identity as artists.
At the same time, you absolutely do not need to want a professional dance career to train with me.
I love working with complete beginners just as much as experienced performers. Whether you're preparing for an audition, looking to improve your technique, wanting to become more confident, returning to dance after years away, or simply want to learn some great choreography and enjoy moving to music, I'll meet you at your level and build from there.
My classes are supportive, energetic and challenging without losing the most important part of dance:
Enjoying it.
I want every student to leave feeling more confident than when they walked in — having learned something new, pushed themselves and, most importantly, had a great time doing it.

About My Classes
Whether you are stepping into a dance studio for the very first time, looking to build your confidence, preparing for an audition, or already training professionally and wanting to take your performance to the next level, my lessons are tailored specifically to you.
With over 13 years of professional experience as a performer, choreographer and dance educator, I bring real-world industry knowledge into every class. My career has taken me from professional stage performance to teaching and choreographing within some of the UK's leading performing arts training environments.
My teaching specialises in Commercial Jazz, Musical Theatre Dance, Commercial Dance, performance and my own Afro-Flo style — a high-energy fusion influenced by African movement, traditional Kuduro and commercial dance.
What can we work on?
Every dancer is different, so I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Depending on your goals, our lessons can focus on:
• Dance technique and foundations
• Commercial Jazz and Musical Theatre choreography
• Afro-Flo / African & Kuduro-inspired movement
• Performance quality and stage presence
• Musicality and dynamics
• Picking up choreography faster
• Confidence and movement quality
• Audition preparation
• Professional dance training
• Choreography and creative development
• Fitness, coordination and simply dancing for fun
A typical session begins with a structured warm-up designed to prepare the body, improve mobility and get you mentally focused. From there, we'll move into technique, exercises or choreography based around what you want to achieve.
For dancers wanting professional development, I can push you technically and artistically while helping you understand the details that transform choreography from simply knowing the steps into truly performing them.
For complete beginners, there's absolutely no pressure. We'll build everything progressively, helping you become comfortable with movement, rhythm and coordination while developing confidence along the way.
And if your goal is simply to dance, exercise, learn a routine to a song you love and have a great time — that's equally welcome!
My Teaching Philosophy
One of the biggest things I teach is that dance isn't only about steps.
It's about musicality, individuality, confidence, intention and performance.
I want dancers to understand why they are moving rather than simply copying choreography. My aim is to create an encouraging environment where you can challenge yourself, make mistakes, discover your own movement and leave every lesson feeling that you've achieved something.
Who Are My Lessons For?
All levels are welcome — from complete beginners to aspiring and professional performers.
I work with children, young people and adults, adapting the level, pace and teaching approach to the individual.
So whether you're preparing for drama school or college auditions, developing professionally, returning to dance after time away, learning for the first time, or simply looking for an exciting way to move and build confidence, we'll create lessons around your goals.
Most importantly, I want you to enjoy dancing.
You'll be challenged, you'll learn, you'll sweat — and we'll have a lot of fun doing it.
