About Oliver
Hey there! My name is Oliver, just a regular 20-year-old guy who has had the privilege to learn all sorts of interesting and amazing communication skills and I am excited to share them with you to help you succeed in your presentations, express yourself and to overcome that all-too-painful stage fright!
I, too, have been a slightly introverted person, frightened of the world. I have been in that position, worrying that if I make a mistake, I will lose all credibility and respect! Fret not! I hope to help you through this challenge, no matter what it takes.
I have spent most of my life up on a stage, or in front of a class. I have a had a lifelong passion for Theatre, and that has transformed into a passion for teaching those how to be stronger communicators and speakers using my knowledge as a Performer. Many people feel Public Speaking, Communication and academic English is so far removed from the Arts, but I beg to differ! I have spent the past 2 years of my life translating and transforming my Theatrical knowledge into frameworks that any interested speaker can utilise to make them more effective and authentic! I hope to impart this knowledge onto you.
On a personal level, I like to think I am a fun person to be around! Be sure to mention football, video games, movies/TV/music during our lessons and I think we can get along! Extra points if you are a Chelsea supporter :)
I have had many experiences teaching people of all backgrounds, ages and confidence levels. I have taught less-fortunate children in Cambodia the power of theatrical storytelling and leadership, I have taught my fellow peers in Theatre how to be stronger performers and I have also built Emcees out of people younger and older than me at the Music and Drama Company, Singapore! I love speaking to all sorts of people, and I love learning new perspectives and views on the world! People have called me very people-oriented, as well as a strong leader, but I don't like flattering myself all too much :)

1. I am an IB Graduate, gathering 38 total points with a 7 in Theatre HL, Language and Literature HL and Social and Cultural Anthropology
2. Studying Information Technology Management for Business (BSc Hons) at The University of Manchester
3. Theatrically trained for 6 years at School of the Arts, Singapore
4. 2 years of experience as a Professional Emcee Artiste, Trainer and Manager at the Music and Drama Company in Singapore, building future public speakers from the ground-up regardless of experience or confidence.
I believe each student is different, unique and indistinguishable, which is why I do not subscribe to the idea of pre-determined lesson plans! I believe my teaching should be tailored to YOU, so I would love to hear your concerns, what specifically you are preparing for and we can build our lesson plans from there!
I teach all ages, regardless of background! If you have a presentation upcoming for an assessment, a wedding you need to host or want to be a more confident and outspoken speaker (haha!), you are just the person I am looking for! I typically host 1-2 hour sessions, and I am more than happy to conduct them online through whatever means necessary.
