About Damon
I've taught students for 17 years at the university level, and have had professional journal publications, conference presentations, and finished films exhibited in theaters. I interned for many years with the producer of The Godfather Trilogy and Apocalypse Now, and learned very much from him as both a script-reader and filmmaker. I have also been the Executive Director of the Red Dirt International Film Festival for the past 14 years, and very pleased that it is rated one of the Top 100 fests out of the 12,000 worldwide!

I'm super passionate about screenwriting & filmmaking, and in educating others! I love to evaluate and guide students through their personal projects, using many go-to examples from classic Hollywood and European cinema history. I scale my lessons accordingly, whether it's for people wishing to simply make their own films, learn about film history as film buffs, or for current undergraduate or graduate students wishing to enhance their skill set and knowledge base!
