Perfect! Great first lesson with John, my first keyboard lesson for many years!

Perfect! As a pianist who was only classically trained, I thought I wouldn’t pick up jazz concepts quickly, but the way he explained everything made it feel surprisingly easy and intuitive. He has a clear and deep understanding of jazz, and his ability to break things down made each lesson really enjoyable. He also took the time to answer all my questions, even if it meant going overtime, which I really appreciated. I’d highly recommend him to anyone wanting to develop their jazz skills.

Perfect! John is an excellent Jazz piano teacher. He's really friendly and fun and my son is loving the lessons. He explains everything very clearly and I can both see and hear how quickly my son is improving in just a few weeks. It's really inspired him and he's playing with much more fluidity and musicality. John's use of technology really helps the lessons as you can see exactly what he's playing which avoids any confusion, he also sends through sheet music that he creates from the work done in the lesson which is really helpful. He also sends through really useful resources. We highly recommend him.

Perfect! John is a friendly teacher with lots of knowledge concerning jazz theory. I find it extremely useful to be able to see a birdseye view of a keyboard as this can be helpful when he explains and demonstrates different concepts.
Of course, it's also good that he is able to teach music that the student wants to play and build on the knowledge that the student already has.

He is clearly passionate about about music and very knowledgeable but can clearly communicate his knowledge in a manner that is simple for relative beginners (like me). Perfect! Super felixble with his teaching style, and clearly brilliant at what he does. I'm trying to develop some improvisational skills, and it really feels like he's set out a personalised curiculum to help me do that. We've covered aspects of jazz, blues, and pop with helpful explanations of why specific things work, and others don't. There's no pressure in lessons, just a gentle encouragement. The keyboard scroll at the bottom really helps with seeing what notes he's playing and I can see how that would be super useful for younger students. Could not fault if I wanted to.
