About Lindsay
Driven by a profound belief that every individual possesses an innate capacity for creativity, I am Lindsay English—a space maker, a beautifier, and a fervent advocate for the transformative power of art. On the pursuit to completing my Master's degree in Arts in Medicine from the University of Florida and a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting from the University of South Dakota, I have dedicated my career to inspiring others and enriching communities through the arts.
As a Secondary Visual Art and Art History Teacher, I nurture the creative spirit in each of my students, guiding them to explore their unique artistic voices while fostering a deep understanding of cultural contexts. Beyond the classroom, I am a trailblazer in the field of Arts in Health, leveraging the intersection of art and wellness to humanize healthcare experiences and promote holistic well-being.
Throughout my journey, I have served as a gallery assistant, a dance instructor, and an artist-in-residence, each role reaffirming my belief in the power of art to connect, heal, and elevate the human experience. Whether through exhibitions, community projects, or educational initiatives, I am dedicated to creating spaces where individuals can explore, express, and celebrate their inherent creativity. What sets me apart as a tutor is my holistic approach to art education, which goes beyond technical skill development to instill a deep appreciation for art's cultural and social significance. By integrating my background in Arts in Medicine and extensive experience as a gallery assistant and artist in residence, I bring a unique perspective to the classroom, inspiring students to explore the intersection of art and wellness. My dedication to fostering creativity, coupled with my commitment to community engagement and advocacy through initiatives like the National Organization for Arts in Health, enriches the educational experience and prepares students for success both inside and outside the studio.

Whether pursuing a degree in the arts or simply exploring their creative interests, my teaching adapts to accommodate students of all skill levels and backgrounds. Through personalized guidance and inclusive instruction, I empower students to develop their artistic voices and navigate the complexities of the art world with confidence.
Typical Lesson Plan:
In a typical lesson, I begin by introducing fundamental artistic concepts and techniques, followed by classical practices. Through hands-on projects, discussions, and visual presentations/ tutorials, students gain practical skills while delving into the cultural and societal influences (art history) that shape artistic expression. Each lesson culminates in learning technical tools for students have a strong foundation in order to be able to create anything they set their minds too.

Perfect! She's very personable, flexible, laid back and experienced.
Perfect! She had a clear lesson plan, was a great instructor and gave very helpful feedback. I am a complete beginner and feel very inspired to continue to take drawing lessons. I would recommend her to anybody Interested in drawing, even if you are complete novice. She has extensive experience teaching all levels.
