About Christina

I am a singer, dancer, and actor with 10 years of professional experience. I trained in classical ballet with the San Francisco Ballet and the Kirov Academy of Ballet. I graduated from USC with a BA in Theater with an Emphasis in Acting. I began working immediately in the indie film market in LA while studying voice with Deborah Shulman. I then went on to tour in the Broadway National Tour of the reimagined Peter Pan the Musical directed by Lonny Price, in which I played Jane Darling, the pirate Cecco, the Croc, and understudied Wendy. After that, I spent 7 months working on the Norwegian Viva cruise ship as Miss Argentina in Beetlejuice the Musical and as a principal vocalist in a cabaret revue show aboard the ship.

About the lesson

In our first lessons, we will spend time perfecting a proper vocal warm up. Some voices require a lot of warming up and some require only a little, but every singer should take the time to check in and set up their voice before singing full-out. There may be days when your technique comes naturally and days when it feels difficult. Our warm up will help you to set your voice up even on the days it doesn't feel "right". Strong technique is necessary to perform 8 times a week in a Broadway show! Our warm up will build your stamina and give your voice longevity for a fruitful career.

It takes some time to learn healthy technique. I will have you record our lesson for you to practice on your own time between lessons. Muscle memory takes practice to train--eventually you won't have to spend as much time setting up your voice for success.

Once we have built a solid foundation, we will start to focus on building a repertoire of songs. I will comb through the songs with you to work on technique as well as performance and stage presence.

My lessons are for beginner-intermediate biologically female singers of all ages and biologically male singers outside the "voice drop" period. The only other requirements are that you love to sing and are willing to put in the effort!

As a professional musical theater performer, I can provide real world experience, audition advice, and resources for budding performers. As a singer, I can demonstrate proper techniques to provide examples and use my own personal experience to help students understand complex technique.

Lessons are one hour each, recommended weekly to start, every two weeks at an intermediate stage, and as needed once technique is solid. I charge $70 for the hour.
