About Grady

Hi, I’m Grady — a professional musician and experienced teacher with a passion for making piano lessons enjoyable, engaging, and tailored to each student. I hold a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Music and have performed with some of the UK’s leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Opera House, and Welsh National Opera. Alongside my orchestral career, I have extensive experience teaching privately, accompanying for exams, and working with students of all ages and abilities. My lessons focus on building solid technique — posture, hand position, and finger control — while also encouraging creativity and musical expression. I integrate music theory into practical playing so students gain a deeper understanding of the music. Whether you’re preparing for ABRSM exams, improving your skills, or playing for fun, I aim to make every lesson motivating, productive, and enjoyable.

About the lesson

I teach fun, friendly, and personalised piano lessons for beginners up to intermediate level, and for students of any age. Whether you’re brand new to the piano or brushing up old skills, I’ll help you build solid technique while also playing music you actually enjoy. We’ll work on posture, hand position, and finger technique from the start, but we’ll also dive into pieces you love alongside the classics. I like to mix things up with method books, tailored exercises, ear-training, and a dash of theory so you understand the music, not just play it. Lessons are usually 45–60 minutes, and I adapt the pace to suit you. I have years of experience teaching privately, accompanying students for exams, and performing professionally — so I know how to help you learn quickly and enjoy the process. Whether you want to take ABRSM exams, learn for fun, or add piano skills to your main instrument studies, my lessons are relaxed, supportive, and designed to get you making music from day one.
