About Anna

My name is Anna Adetiba!

I'm a 26 year old professional saxophonist, producer and composer based in Hackney.

Having learned my instrument at the Camden Music Service, and then with Tomorrows Warriors at the Southbank Centre, I have received a fantastic education in Jazz and its history and roots.

I truly stand by the mentality of "each one, teach one", which advocates for the belief that sharing our skills as a community strengthens the community as a whole. As such, I am so excited to find some inspired young (or new) students to pass on my knowledge about jazz, and more widely, how to play an instrument as a means of expression.

I hope to be a friendly face who inspires you to continually enjoy the world of music, whilst also learning a solid skillset on this fantastic instrument.

About the lesson

I'm offering 30 minute and hour-long lessons geared towards newer students (up to grade 5) wanting to learn either Alto or Tenor sax in an environment which feels creatively fulfilling, friendly and fun!

I really like to create an environment where students can find their own voice on the instrument and develop a sense of playfulness and calm confidence, especially in jazz improvisation.

As such, I focus on teaching a solid foundation of skills, theory and playing technique, whilst also relating core concepts to things that musically inspire my students: Whether that is the way that John Coltrane plays a solo, or a fun riff in a modern pop-song, I will find a way to work with the student to turn it into an inspiring, useful and interesting way to learn the horn!

I am also happy to teach grades 1-4 in either classical or jazz saxophone.
