About Sarah
Hi, my name is Sarah and I study Jazz and popular music at the Univeristy of music and performing arts in Mannheim, Germany. My major is electric bass. Through my studies I was able to gain experience in a wide variety of musical styles and line-ups. I've played, for example in large ensembles, such as a big band and salsa ensemble, but also in smaller bands, such as a funk fusion ensemble. Apart from studying, I am part of a reggae-ska band, but my musical roots come from rock music. I have been teaching bass at music schools for two years and I really enjoy teaching people of all ages how to groove.

All bass players are welcome at my place. I like to teach people who have discovered the bass and people who have already gained experience but want to further develop their skills. Lessons can focus on:
-How do I create a bassline?
-How do I play the bassline of my favorite song?
-Rhythms / Grooves
-Scales / Harmonies
-Techniques: Slap, Tapping, Fingerstyle
-Basslines in different musical styles
and many more.
The goal for me as a teacher is to teach my students what they want to learn. There is no curriculum because I believe that the best way to learn, is to focus on the things you are interested in at the moment. My students learn at their own pace how they can develop freely as a bass player in a band or as a solo project.
