About Alex
I hold a BFA in Theater from Elon University and have performed professionally in two off-Broadway musicals and with touring bands in Los Angeles. My lead role in a short film was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. Beyond performing, I've spent years helping fellow musicians learn material for shows and gigs, which naturally evolved into teaching. I understand the vulnerability of learning something new because I've been there myself. My students range from young children taking their first lessons to adults returning to music after decades away. I believe everyone has music inside them - my job is simply to help you find the most joyful way to let it out.

I teach music the way I learned it - through doing, not theory. Every lesson starts with a song you actually want to play, then we build technique around that goal. For piano, we'll start with chord patterns that unlock hundreds of songs. For guitar, three chords can get you playing your favorites immediately. Voice lessons focus on healthy technique without forcing your natural sound. I've performed professionally in off-Broadway shows and touring bands, but I remember being a nervous beginner. My approach is patient and practical - no judgment, no boring exercises, just real music from day one. Lessons are tailored to your goals, whether you're eight years old or eighty, preparing for auditions or just fulfilling a lifelong dream.
