About Tarik
I’m Tarik Sparks, a professional photographer, chef, and founder of The Hidden Creation. I’ve spent years photographing food, portraits, events, restaurants, and brands in real-world professional environments.
I’m largely self-taught as a photographer, which shapes how I teach. I remember what it feels like to pick up a camera and have aperture, shutter speed, ISO, lighting, lenses, and editing all feel more complicated than they need to be.
My goal is to help you understand photography practically—not memorize technical language. I’ll teach you how I approach an image, solve problems on a shoot, work with people, and develop your own eye.
Whether you just bought your first camera or you’re trying to turn photography into paid work, I can help you build a stronger foundation and figure out your next step.

Photography gets easier once you understand what your camera is actually doing. My lessons are designed for beginners who want to stop guessing and start creating images intentionally.
We can work on camera settings, lighting, composition, portraits, food photography, editing, and developing your own visual style. If your goal is to eventually make money from photography, I can also walk you through building a portfolio, working with clients, pricing your first jobs, and what actually happens on a professional shoot.
Lessons are hands-on and built around where you are now. Bring your camera, your questions, and the kind of photography you want to create. We’ll work from there.
