About Abigail

HandsthatSing is reaching its 7th year of providing quality tailor-made private music lessons. Students of all ages and levels of experience have grown their theory toolbox and sight reading skills, learned to play classical and contemporary music and grown through the Handsthatsing program. These courses are self paced and student specific. Through a combination of music reading, ear training and chord analysis development, with the aid of "take home" virtual study tools and private one on one instruction, HandsthatSing has offered students a well balanced approach to achieve their music making goals and cultivate a lifelong love of music and their instrument.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailor- made to fit the students unique learning style and level. We will learn shortcuts to reading music, all the basics and beauty of chords and how to make them work for you- so that you can quickly start playing the music of your dreams.
I have a BA in Piano Performance, MusicTheory and Applied Music pedagogy and have been playing and studying piano for over 30 years. My passion for the instrument only grows ! I love to share the shortcuts- my passion for piano is only surpassed by my passion for helping others play !

Perfect! Abigail is INCREDIBLE!!! Her unique, comprehensive, and thoughtful approach to teaching makes learning piano accessible for ANYONE. I was so intimated to even touch a piano before I met Abigail, and I can’t believe how much I’ve already learned in only 2 months!!! She makes the process fun, rewarding, expansive, and exciting. She is so invested in the progress of her students, and she has a natural gift for showing people why the piano is such a beautiful instrument AND something to approach with curiosity and joy. Abigail is truly special and the only piano teacher you’ll ever need!!!

She is so much fun and reads notation very well; you should hear her Scott Joplin’s “Entertainer”
It is getting really good.
We have been working on pedal technique, intervalic determinations for faster shortcuts and learning all Major chords in chromatic order.
The sky is the limit for Lynn !
