About Jo

With more than 12 years of Piano teaching experience, I have helped students from different age groups and backgrounds achieve meaningful progress in their musical journey. I teach school students, college students, and working professionals through lessons that are customised to their individual goals.

My teaching approach combines technical training, creativity, and practical learning. I focus on helping students understand music while developing the skills needed to perform confidently and express themselves artistically.

My lessons include piano fundamentals, scales, chords, rhythm training, sight reading, ear training, music theory, improvisation, and performance preparation. I encourage students to develop discipline and consistency through regular practice.

Apart from Piano instruction, I teach keyboard skills and music reading. These complementary subjects strengthen overall musicianship and support long-term growth.

I am passionate about helping students build confidence, improve steadily, and discover the joy of music. Through personalised guidance and ongoing support, I help learners achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong love for Piano.

About the lesson

My teaching style is based on communication, creativity, flexibility, patience, and structured learning. I believe every piano lesson should help students improve not only their playing skills but also their confidence, creativity, and appreciation for music.

Students begin by developing correct posture, finger strength, rhythm, note reading, and music theory. As their confidence grows, they continue with scales, chords, dynamics, articulation, pedal techniques, sight reading, expressive performance, and musical interpretation.

I use practical demonstrations, easy explanations, and enjoyable exercises to make learning effective. Students are encouraged to understand every concept, ask questions freely, and build strong practice habits through regular guidance.

Students explore different musical styles while developing creativity through accompaniment, improvisation, and performance activities. These experiences help them become expressive and confident musicians.

Besides piano, I teach keyboard fundamentals, rhythm training, ear training, music theory, sight reading, music appreciation, and beginner composition. These related subjects provide students with a complete musical foundation.

My aim is to create a motivating and supportive learning experience where students achieve their goals, enjoy every lesson, and develop a lifelong love for piano and music.
