About Casey

I am a passionate saxophone tutor with more than 10 years of experience teaching college students. I believe music education should be motivating, practical, and enjoyable. My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity and expression.

Lessons include tone building, breathing exercises, finger technique, rhythm control, and expressive performance. I also guide students through improvisation exercises to help them develop confidence and musical independence. Real-life music examples are used to make lessons engaging and easy to understand.

I use modern learning methods such as recording feedback, interactive play-along sessions, and personalised practice plans. Music theory, ear training, and sight-reading are also part of my lessons to support complete musical development.

I maintain a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to improve at their own pace and enjoy their musical journey.

About the lesson

My teaching approach for Saxophone is based on strong fundamentals, creative learning, and consistent progress. I believe students learn best when lessons are clear and supportive. I begin by teaching proper posture, breathing techniques, embouchure formation, finger coordination, tone control, articulation, and rhythm accuracy. Each topic is explained step by step using simple language and practical exercises so students can understand and apply them easily.

Creativity is encouraged throughout the learning process. I allow students to explore different sounds, learn songs they enjoy, and practise basic improvisation. This helps students express themselves and stay interested in learning. As a mentor, I guide students patiently, helping them build confidence and a positive mindset towards music.

Critical thinking is developed by teaching students to listen carefully, recognise mistakes, and understand how to correct them. Accountability is maintained through structured practice plans, clear goals, and regular feedback. Along with Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Rhythm Training, Ear Training, and Scale Practice to support complete musical growth.
