tabla is a indian instrument. It is believed that amongst percussion instruments, the Tabla is the only one with a lineage or different Gharanas. i teach banaras gharanait has been the principal percussion instrument in Hindustani classical music, where it may be played solo, as an accompaniment with other instruments and vocals, or as a part of larger ensembles.
