About Aida Andrea

I am a professional violinist with over 10 years of orchestral experience and 5 years of teaching in South America and Europe. I was a member of the Orquesta Filarmónica Juvenil de Bogotá as 1st violin. As a modern violinist, I took part in master classes in Colombia, Brazil, Canada and Germany with renowned violinists as well as Theodora Geraets, Andrew Wan, Nadja Zwiener and others. I was a member of the Ensemble Academy of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, JSB Ensemble in the International Bach Academy Stuttgart, the XVIII Académie de musique ancienne du Périgord Noir 2019 with Johannes Pramsoler in Montignac, France, of the XXVII Corso di Formazione Orchestrale Barocca e Classica in the Academia Montis Regalis 2020 and 2021 with Enrico Onofri in Mondovì, Italy among others I have a diploma in modern violin and currently completing the baroque violin studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen. I speak spanish, english, german and basic french.

About the lesson

In my work as a violin teacher, my main goal is that students, whether children, adolescents or adults, have fun learning. People learn best when they are having fun. It is therefore very important to me not only to work with stimulating methods, but at the same time to ensure that each student's process has a clear step-by-step structure in which their self-confidence is strengthened and the practice time is fun for them.

Every student always has different needs, but it's also my job not only to provide information about technique or musicality, but also to help them develop the confidence they need to grow as an artist. With this in mind, I always make sure to use positive, clear, inclusive, and stimulating language in every violin lesson that will help make them feel capable and proud of their achievements, no matter how small they may be, even their mistakes . The idea is to create in them a sense of awareness and empowerment for continuous improvement. When working with children I always like to have active and stimulating communication with parents as they play a key role in learning the violin, not only to encourage practice at home, but also because they are essential for helping their children to develop the necessary confidence and determination in themselves.
