About Mateo
I have 11 years of teaching experience and hold a Master of Music in Vocal Performance. Throughout my teaching career, I have guided beginners, choir members, aspiring performers, and experienced singers who wanted to strengthen their vocal abilities and musical confidence. I enjoy creating encouraging learning environments where every student feels comfortable exploring their unique voice.
One student joined my classes after experiencing difficulty maintaining confidence during live performances despite having strong vocal ability. Together we improved breathing techniques, performance preparation, emotional interpretation, and audience engagement through regular coaching sessions. After months of dedicated practice, the student successfully performed at several public events with confidence and expressive stage presence.
I believe every voice possesses its own individuality and deserves patient guidance that supports both technical excellence and artistic creativity. My classroom encourages curiosity, consistent practice, and positive self-confidence while providing constructive feedback that helps students continue improving. I begin by evaluating each student's vocal range, musical interests, and long-term aspirations before designing a personalized learning plan. This allows every lesson to support healthy vocal development while encouraging artistic growth. Each class combines technical training with enjoyable performance experiences that keep learning motivating and rewarding.
Breath management exercises improve vocal stability, endurance, and tone quality while protecting the voice from unnecessary strain. Vocal warm-ups gradually develop flexibility, resonance, and pitch accuracy before introducing more advanced singing techniques. Ear training activities strengthen listening skills, harmony recognition, and melodic accuracy through practical musical exercises.
Students explore musical styles including pop, classical, musical theatre, jazz, contemporary, and acoustic genres according to their interests and performance goals. Interpretation activities encourage learners to communicate emotion, understand song lyrics, and develop authentic musical expression. Recording sessions allow students to evaluate their own progress while refining tone, articulation, and overall vocal presentation.
Students preparing for concerts, auditions, competitions, studio recordings, music examinations, or public performances receive structured coaching focused on confidence, preparation, and stage communication. I regularly provide detailed feedback, celebrate progress, and adjust lessons to match each learner's evolving goals. Every session concludes with personalized practice routines that support consistent improvement while maintaining long-term vocal health.
